Grant for Art Department
The Sunny Hills will purchase $23,000 in new equipment and software as a result of a check we received recently from the Phelps Foundation. The primary beneficiary of the grant is the Art Department, but all of the departments at the school will benefit. We want to recognize the Kathy Atnip from our board who wrote the grant with input from Mr. Wall and Mr. Atkinson and, of course, the Phelps Foundation.
Thank-You Note
We received a very nice note from the Math Department at Sunny Hills. They are very excited about the impact the document camera's purchased by the Foundation are having on their classrooms. Click here to see this thanks that goes out to all of our donors who made this possible.
KPA Donation
On the first day of Spring (March 21st), the Korean Parents Association (KPA) presented the Sunny Hills Foundation for Education with a check for $10,000. Pictured you see Kelly Ahn, President of KPA, presenting Scott Daniel, President of SHFE, with the check. This makes the KPA the largest single donor yet to the foundation.
Second Mailing
The foundation sent out their second
mailing to parents at the end of February and we've started to receive
donations. Be sure to read over the brochure and send in your donation!
First Benefactor
Mark & Vickie Gorney answered the Foundation's first mailing in a big way
by becoming SHFE's first Benefactor! Their
generosity is greatly appreciated by everyone at Sunny Hills High School.
We'd also like to thank everyone else that made a contribution before the
end of the year. Every donation, whatever the amount, is important to the
school. If you haven't already made a contribution, click
here to download a form!
Contest Winner
Kelly & Denise Penfield were the winners of the digital camera in SHFE's
contest to promote our first mailing. Below we see Jaehee Kim, the head of
the foundation's fundraising committee, awarding the camera to Mr. Penfield.
