President's Message
If you are the parent of a Sunny Hills High School student, you’ve decided to send your
child there knowing that it is an exceptional school. The
Lancers have a tradition of excellence that goes back many years. 96% of the
class of 2006 entered either a 2 year college or a 4 year university after
graduation.
However, the last few years have been the
most competitive years in history for college admissions and we believe that
colleges and universities will continue to receive record numbers of
applications. The Sunny Hills Foundation for Education (SHFE) wants to ensure
that SHHS students are prepared. We hope that you’ll help.
SHFE is a 501(c)3
non-profit educational organization founded by SHHS parents that is dedicated to
raising funds to improve our school. The money raised by the foundation will be
used to purchase equipment and supplies for academic, athletic, and art
departments at Sunny Hills.
You should have received a letter and information regarding our Annual Fundraising
Campaign. Look over our brochure and decide what you can contribute. All of your
donations in this first campaign will go directly to the school to purchase
items from a prioritized wish list provided by Mr. Atkinson, SHHS Principal, and
his department heads.
A “Partner” level
contribution of $1000 will purchase a computer, a marine aquarium, an LCD
projector, a digital microscope, or some other piece of equipment or materials
that will give your students a much needed edge in their education. Your
leadership will not go unnoticed.
Last year exceeded our expectations for the Foundation. We raised nearly $75,000 that was used for various programs at the school. This year we hope to raise $100,000, but it can only happen with your help. Please support the students at the school by making a donation to the Foundation.
